The Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of cancer epidemiology methods development and applications, with the ability to establish oneself as a research leader. Expertise in study design and analysis, cancer prevention / interception, clinical trials, precision medicine, implementation science, or similar research frameworks is preferred. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Teaching responsibilities will include participation in epidemiology PhD, MPH, and MSCE training programs, as well as teaching epidemiology courses in other biomedical programs. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.
Research or scholarship responsibilities will include the development of innovative leading-edge epidemiologic methods as well as collaborative research projects at the Abramson Cancer Center.
Tenure track applicants will focus primarily on the development of innovative leading-edge cancer epidemiologic methods and applications, with secondary emphasis on collaborative research projects within the Abramson Cancer Center and the Perelman School of Medicine. Clinician-Educator track applicants who have outstanding productivity in collaborative research, as well as some methodological research, are also encouraged to apply. There is a rich mix of ongoing biomedical research programs at the Abramson Cancer Center to provide motivation and opportunities for the development of novel methods on wide-ranging domains of biomedical, clinical, and translational science.
